Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

With every spring comes rain and with rain comes tulips! Nothing marks the changing of season from winter to spring like bright and vibrant blossoming flowers. This year I decided that I was going to go to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival to see the 40 acres grandeur beauty. When I saw that one of my favorite Instagrammers was hosting an InstaMeet there I knew that was the perfect time to go.

InstaMeets are events that happen globally where Instagrammers meet each other, share photography advice and collaborate together to create photographs to post on their personal feeds. With my interests in photography and communication this seemed like a suitable event to stretch my creativity while also making new photography connections. My friend Jenn came along for the experience. When we arrived the group instantly greeted us and we trekked out into the fields with our cameras in hand together.

Words cannot describe how simply amazing it was. There were tulips of every color under the sun and planted in organized rows that made for a beautiful display of blossoming flowers. Mt. Hood and Oregon’s scenic countryside set the backdrop to the vibrant display of tulips. To say it was picturesque would be an understatement.

I know I will be returning back to this romantic place in the years to follow to see another magnificent display of tulips and stunning views; I just won’t forget my wooden shoes next time!
